Climb Mount Kilimanjaro with a route that fits your trek
Mount Kilimanjaro rises to Uhuru Peak at 5,895 metres (19,341 ft). Route choice affects the number of trekking days, accommodation style, scenery, pacing and time available for acclimatization. AfroEast Adventures’ confirmed 2026 program includes Marangu, Machame, Lemosho, Rongai and Umbwe packages, with detailed group-size pricing already shown on the relevant tour pages.
Machame Route
Machame is a camping route with varied mountain scenery. AfroEast currently has 7-day and 8-day Machame packages in the confirmed 2026 program. The longer option provides more itinerary time, while the final day-by-day plan should always be checked on the selected package before booking.
Lemosho Route
Lemosho approaches from the western side and is offered over 7 or 8 days in the current program. It is a strong option for travellers who want a longer approach and a camping-based climb. Prices depend on duration and group size; use the individual product page for the applicable verified rate.
Marangu Route
Marangu is available as a 5- or 6-day climb and uses mountain huts rather than tented camping. The extra day in the 6-day program changes the pacing and should be considered alongside fitness, previous altitude experience and available travel time.
Rongai and Umbwe
Rongai is a 7-day northern approach, while Umbwe is a steeper 7-day option. These routes create different trekking experiences, so route selection should consider terrain, pacing and acclimatization rather than price alone.
What is included in the 2026 climbing program?
The client-confirmed program includes professional mountain guides and porters, park and rescue fees, basic first-aid availability, accommodation before and after the climb, mountain tents or hut accommodation as applicable, three meals per day on the mountain and airport transfers.
What is not included?
International and domestic flights, Tanzania visa fees, personal climbing gear or equipment, tips for guides, porters and cooks, alcoholic and soft drinks, vaccinations and medical costs are excluded from the confirmed package inclusions.
Prepare for altitude and changing conditions
Fitness does not remove altitude risk. Choose a route and duration that suit your circumstances, follow guide instructions, report symptoms early and review the acclimatization and packing guides before departure. Travellers with medical concerns should seek advice from a qualified clinician before a high-altitude trek.
