Accessibility should be planned specifically, not assumed
Safari accessibility depends on the individual traveller, vehicle configuration, accommodation and daily route. A label such as “accessible” is not enough. Before confirming, discuss exactly what support is needed for transfers, communication, mobility, personal equipment and room access.
Ask detailed questions about the vehicle and lodge
Consider step height, seating position, storage for mobility equipment, bathroom layout, pathways and assistance during transfers. Photos and measurements can be more useful than general descriptions. For deaf or hard-of-hearing travellers, communication preferences and guide arrangements should be agreed in advance.
Build a realistic daily pace
Long drives, rough roads and repeated hotel changes may add unnecessary difficulty. A tailored itinerary can reduce transfers and place more time in fewer destinations.
