Overview

The 6 Days Kilimanjaro Marangu Route, often called the “Coca-Cola Route,” is the only route on Mount Kilimanjaro that offers hut accommodation instead of camping. This makes it a popular choice for trekkers seeking more comfort during their climb. The route follows a gradual ascent through rainforest, moorland, and alpine desert zones, providing a relatively straightforward path to the summit. The 6-day itinerary includes an extra acclimatization day at Horombo Hut, which improves the chances of reaching Uhuru Peak. While it is considered one of the easier routes in terms of terrain, proper preparation is still essential for a successful summit.

Highlights:
  • Only route with hut accommodation (no camping)
  • More comfortable trekking experience
  • Gradual and well-defined trail
  • Extra acclimatization day included
  • Ideal for first-time climbers
  • Summit Uhuru Peak (5,895m)
