The 6 Days Kilimanjaro Marangu Route, often called the “Coca-Cola Route,” is the only route on Mount Kilimanjaro that offers hut accommodation instead of camping. This makes it a popular choice for trekkers seeking more comfort during their climb. The route follows a gradual ascent through rainforest, moorland, and alpine desert zones, providing a relatively straightforward path to the summit. The 6-day itinerary includes an extra acclimatization day at Horombo Hut, which improves the chances of reaching Uhuru Peak. While it is considered one of the easier routes in terms of terrain, proper preparation is still essential for a successful summit.
Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania
Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, transfer to your hotel in Moshi/Arusha for briefing.
Day 2: Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut
Trek through lush rainforest to Mandara Hut (4–5 hours).
Day 3: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut
Continue through moorland with views of Mawenzi Peak.
Day 4: Acclimatization Day at Horombo Hut
Optional hike to Zebra Rocks for acclimatization and rest.
Day 5: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

Day 6: Summit (Uhuru Peak) & Descend to Horombo Hut
