Morning: Departure from Arusha or Moshi
You will be picked up from your hotel and driven to Materuni village, nestled on the lush slopes of Kilimanjaro. The drive itself offers scenic views of banana plantations and small farms.
Late Morning: Hike to Materuni Waterfalls
Begin a guided hike through farms and forest trails. The walk takes around 45–60 minutes and is suitable for most fitness levels. Arrive at the magnificent Materuni Falls, where water plunges into a refreshing pool below. Here, you can relax, take photos, or swim in the cool mountain water.
Afternoon: Coffee Tour with the Chagga Community
Return to the village and join the locals for a coffee-making experience. Learn the traditional process — from harvesting and roasting beans to grinding them with a mortar and pestle. Finally, enjoy a cup of freshly brewed organic coffee prepared by your own hands.
Late Afternoon: Return Journey
After lunch and coffee, drive back to Moshi or Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon.
