Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park
After breakfast in Arusha, you will depart for Tarangire National Park, a landscape famous for its giant baobab trees and large elephant herds. Spend the day on a game drive across the savannah, spotting wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, buffalo, and predators like lions and leopards. Bird lovers will be delighted by the park’s 500+ species. By evening, you’ll check into a comfortable lodge near Tarangire for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Tarangire – Serengeti National Park
Today you’ll journey towards the legendary Serengeti National Park, driving through the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands before reaching the vast Serengeti plains. You’ll enjoy an afternoon game drive, searching for big cats and possibly witnessing the Great Migration (seasonal). Dinner and overnight at a lodge inside or near Serengeti.
Day 3: Full Day in Serengeti
Spend a full day exploring the Serengeti. Begin with an early morning game drive, the best time to spot predators on the move. Continue through different areas of the park, from river valleys to endless plains, encountering elephants, lions, cheetahs, zebras, and much more. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush before continuing with afternoon game drives. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and rest.
Day 4: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast, enjoy a final morning game drive in Serengeti, capturing last glimpses of its spectacular wildlife. By mid-morning, you’ll drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you’ll check into a lodge perched near the crater rim. Relax with stunning views and a hearty dinner before tomorrow’s crater adventure.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater
Today you’ll descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most unique wildlife havens in Africa. The crater floor is teeming with animals including elephants, hippos, wildebeest, zebras, hyenas, and the rare black rhino. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed at the hippo pool before continuing your game drive. By late afternoon, return to your lodge in Karatu for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Lake Manyara National Park – Arusha
On your final day, you’ll visit Lake Manyara National Park, a small but diverse park famous for its tree-climbing lions and flocks of flamingos along the lakeshore. Enjoy a morning game drive, spotting elephants, giraffes, and playful baboons before returning to Arusha in the afternoon, marking the end of your Big Five Safari.
