Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Moshi

Meet our team at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to your hotel. Trek briefing, equipment check, and overnight stay.

Drive: 3–4 hrs | Hike: 3–4 hrs
Begin at Rongai Gate, trek through rainforest to Simba Camp.

Hike: 6–7 hrs
Walk through open moorland with views of Kibo Peak. Overnight at Kikelewa Camp.

Hike: 4–5 hrs
Climb a steep trail to Mawenzi Tarn, below Mawenzi’s jagged peaks. Stunning campsite.

Hike: 5–6 hrs
Cross the barren alpine desert between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. Rest at Kibo Hut before the summit attempt.

Hike: 12–14 hrs
Early midnight start to reach Gilman’s Point and Uhuru Peak. Descend to Horombo Hut.

Hike: 5–6 hrs
Final trek down through rainforest to Marangu Gate. Collect your summit certificate and transfer to Moshi.
