Home » Lake Natron Day Trip– Northern Tanzania
A Taste of Kilimanjaro — One Day, One Adventure.
The Lake Natron Day Trip is a unique cultural and nature experience in Northern Tanzania, ideal for travelers seeking something different from classic wildlife safaris. Located at the base of Mount Ol Doinyo Lengai, Africa’s only active volcano, Lake Natron is famous for its red-colored waters, flamingo breeding grounds, dramatic landscapes, and authentic Maasai culture. This day trip is perfect for adventurous travelers with limited time who want to explore Tanzania’s lesser-known natural wonders.
Early morning departure from Arusha town, driving through remote Maasai lands toward Lake Natron. Along the way, enjoy stunning views of the Great Rift Valley and Mount Ol Doinyo Lengai.
Upon arrival, explore the lake shores and observe flamingos and other birdlife. Continue with a guided walk to Ngare Sero Waterfalls (seasonal), where you can enjoy the scenery and, if conditions allow, cool off in the natural pools.
Later, enjoy a picnic lunch before starting the return journey to Arusha, arriving in the evening.
